Went out with my son today to get a few things accomplished before school starts next week for me and the week after for my son. We hit up his doctor's office to pick up some paperwork, another stop, then to McDonald's for lunch... my son non-stop talking the entire time! "hello"'s to everyone, and then proceeding to share his full name. We ate and then he played, time to leave came and went and after a quiet tantrum up in the play equipment where I couldn't see or get to him, a little girl got him to come down the slide so I could grab him and take him out to the car kicking and screaming (I'm sure at least 1 person in the restaurant thought I was kidnapping my own child... lol)
Then off to the near by Jo-Ann's to get some fabric to line my recently made granny square bag/purse. After about 15 minutes in the car waiting for the tantrum to pass we went into the store that is quickly becoming my new favorite store. My son decided I needed a basket, so he grabbed one stating "I'll carry it mom!" I knew I was in for it then. We wandered, him barely near me, while I grabbed pretty much any fabric that was white and felt OK for a lining, as I have no clue I never lined anything before. Got the fabric cut with him rushing me to want to go look at the yarn.
Of course being a boy he was done at the first sight of a skein of yarn, and we weren't even to the full yarn section needless to say I had to coax him to where I wanted to look. He picked up almost every yarn he passed and asked "this one mom?" having to repeatedly tell him "no, not that one" quickly deciding what if any I wanted. grabbed a red and a black of Red Heart Super Saver skeins, for another granny square bag I thought to myself. Then I continued to look for Caron, as I decided the day or 2 before I wanted to try as I hadn't yet used the brand. Found a few acceptable colors, then was done. My son however was not ready to leave. He went from "I'm hiding mom" to me slowly walking away waiting for him to follow, and he would look around and say "I'm lost..... I cant find my mom" the little booger!! eventually we got to go home where I could get a couple more rows of my top done between dinner and stuff. LONG DAY!!
My oops of the day was I had cash on me, which I don't usually carry because it always disappears, I bought more yarn and I told myself I wouldn't be purchasing anything else for a while, Ive spent too much money as of lately. Gotta be good for a while and stay away from Jo-Ann's.... :(
