My ooooooooo pattern is comming along s-l-o-w-l-y!!!!

So I'm working on a "V-neck Topper"  I started it on Thursday October 14th, got what I thought was a decent amount done, started working on it again the next day, saw the page of the pattern that had a picture of the basic shape and measurements. Come to find out I was getting a measurement of about 19 inches across the bottom when I should have been getting 23 1/2 inches. So I ripped out ALL of my work and started over experimenting with larger hooks to see how big I was going to need to go. Pattern called for 5mm & 5.5mm hooks, I had to bump up to 6mm & 6.5mm hooks. I still didn't have the 23 1/2 inches but I'm very close, about 22 3/4 or so. I managed to work up the beginning of the patter quite quick having already gotten the hang of the idea of working around the post, instead of into the stitch, this was a first for me but I like the look.

I got to a point where I had to add a few duplicates more than it called for because again my measurements were coming up short, the measurement from the bottom to the sleeve base was supposed to be 11 inches and I had about 8, so I added the necessary repeats. I'm making progress slowly, hoping when this is finished it will be as beautiful as I'm imagining and worth all the time and effort I put into it.

Also I'm finally using my Caron simply soft, gotta say I really like this yarn, it's pretty, soft and pleasant to work with. :)

It's gonna be sooo pretty when it's finished
